On 24 September INERIS (the French National Institute for Industrial Environment and Risks) and LSCE (the French Climate and Environmental Sciences Laboratory) began an intercomparison project on 18 AE-33 elementary carbon measuring devices at the SIRTA site in Saclay. The AE-33 analyses elementary carbon at seven wavelengths. Marketed by ECOMESURE since the beginning of 2013, it measures mass concentration and provides indications on the origins of aerosol.
The purpose of the intercomparison is to compare the measurements of black carbon taken by the AE-33 located in the same geographical zone, thereby guaranteeing the quality of the given results.
This study demonstrates the reliability of ECOMESURE’s AE-33 device as well as the quality of its measurements.
