As air quality specialists, Ecomesure is committed to environmental preservation and recognizes the urgency of addressing climate change.

That's why we are excited to announce the official launch of our ESG initiative and to share the results of our inaugural carbon footprint assessment with you.

Our First Step: a complete carbon footprint analysis

Our business involves making the invisible visible. We provide cities and industries with sensors to measure air quality and help better understand pollution phenomena. By conducting a detailed carbon footprint, we are applying this same approach to our own operations. Just as we equip our clients with tools to track air quality trends, we are now equipping ourselves with a tool to measure our own environmental impact. This will allow us to identify the most effective levers for action and implement concrete solutions to reduce our carbon footprint.

How Greenly conducted our carbon footprint assessment?

To conduct this carbon footprint assessment, we partnered with Greenly. Greenly used two standard methods to measure our emissions:

  • The monetary approach, which estimates emissions based on our financial and accounting data. It is quicker to implement and particularly useful for assessing services, allowing for standardized estimates and averages.
  • The physical approach, which directly measures the quantities of resources consumed and waste produced. This is the most precise method, and requires extensive data collection.

Ecomesure is proud to have provided an accurate assessment, prioritizing the physical approach for 41% of our data.

The results of our 2023 carbon footprint assessment

The results of our 2023 carbon footprint assessment, conducted using the Greenly platform, are encouraging. We are proud to have earned the silver medal, demonstrating our commitment to ecological transition and positioning our company among the top 15% of those evaluated in France.

Our annual emissions amount to approximately 337 tonnes of CO2 equivalent, or 16 tonnes per employee.

A detailed analysis reveals that 28% of these emissions are linked to transportation, an area for which we have very precise data thanks to rigorous collection.

Purchases of services and products account for 23% and 21% of our carbon footprint, respectively. It's important to note that the carbon footprint assessment of services is based solely on estimates from financial data, making it less precise than that of products, for which we have more granular data.

Our continuous improvement approach will lead us to refine this data to obtain an even more accurate and reliable measurement of our carbon footprint.

Communication and transparency at the heart of our approach

Through monthly questionnaires, we raise awareness among our employees about environmental issues and actively involve them in this process. By openly sharing the results of our carbon footprint assessment, we aim not only to demonstrate our commitment but also to inspire other companies to take action. The ecological transition is a collective challenge that requires the collaboration of all.

The next steps: taking action to reduce our footprint

These results are encouraging and reinforce our desire to become a more responsible company. We are currently developing a long-term action plan to reduce our GHG emissions and contribute to a more sustainable future.

We'll keep you informed of the next steps!
