Environmental assessment company BioMonitor is studying airborne contaminants and the atmospheric deposition of particles released into the air by a waste-to-energy (WTE) unit undergoing refurbishment.
EcomSmart monitors continuously detect and measure four types of air pollutants: ammonia (NH3), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), total volatile organic compounds (TVOCs), and hydrochloric acid (HCl).The data obtained are uploaded via a 4G network to ws.i-comesure, Ecomesure’s easy-to-use online platform. BioMonitor then downloads these data from the platform and processes them to effectively monitor environmental pollution at the unit.
This real-time monitoring is supplemented by ad hoc measurement surveys of dioxins, furans, and metals using funnel-type precipitation collectors and by the collection and analysis of lichens in accordance with French standard NF X43-904 on biomonitoring of air pollution.
