Ecomesure is thrilled to announce its new partnership with the apneist Arnaud JERALD, author of four world records in his field. We share a strong common desire to preserve human and environmental well-being.
Freediving is an underwater sport based on the interruption of air ventilation. The term apnea comes from the Greek word pneô, which means to breathe. Air and breathing have therefore a special place in the extreme sport of freediving.
Arnaud told us: "Each particle of air, each particle of oxygen plays a crucial role. Before diving deeper than 100m (330 feet), I have to focus on the present moment with breathing exercises." Becoming aware of the air breathed relaxes the body, limits muscle activity and then consumes less oxygen.
Arnaud has broken the world record for freediving in constant weight bi-palms 4 times: 108 meters deep in 2019 then 112 meters in 2020 and finally - 116 and - 117 meters in 2021!
Ecomesure will follow Arnaud's steps throughout 2022 and supports him for the upcoming challenges, including the Vertical Blue in the Bahamas in August and the World Championships in early October in Turkey.
In the meantime, check out the exclusive interview Arnaud gave to Ecomesure:
